Mars - 4-H Seeds for Success – Applications due Wednesday, September 16, 2026

National 4-H Council (Council) is proud to collaborate with the Mars Impact Fund to prepare a total of 1,200 youth for life and careers by developing skills, agency, and connections through high-quality, hands-on experiences in the Mars x 4-H: Seeds for Success project. Built on 4-H's Beyond Ready Framework to guide program design, implementation, and outcome measurement, the project is based on the belief that youth are more likely to pursue careers in food, agriculture, and veterinary science when they have sustained opportunities to build interest, access, and readiness. Through hands-on learning, mentorship, and peer collaboration, teens will explore future-focused careers while developing career-ready skills. Reflection activities will help participants connect their experiences to future education and career pathways in the areas of food, agriculture, and small animal veterinary sciences.

Six (6), $150,000 awards will be provided to support three-year projects. Three (3) awards are reserved for eligible land-grant universities (LGUs) in the following states: California, Illinois, Tennessee. An additional three (3) awards will be given to eligible LGUs in the following states: Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Ohio, Michigan.

Please note that registration approval is not an immediate process, and only takes place during normal business hours, Monday–Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-1:30pm (eastern standard time). 

Applications for funding are only accepted from 4-H/Extension professionals and state level Extension 4-H/Youth Development Program Leaders or LGU Administrators. Please only register for a WebGrants account if you are a 4-H/extension professional or with a LGU.

All applicants MUST inform their State Leader of an application submission prior to submitting an application for funding.

State Leader approval consists of forwarding an automatically generated email that is sent to the State Leader after an application is submitted.
